Ranchi, November 23: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, basking in the glow of a historic victory in the Jharkhand Assembly elections, shared a tender moment with his two sons, posting heartfelt pictures on social media with the caption “Meri Shakti” (My Strength).
The images, which depict Soren hugging his children, quickly went viral, striking an emotional chord across platforms.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance, comprising the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML), has secured a dominant position, leading in 56 seats, ensuring a second consecutive term for the coalition under Soren's leadership.
Soren’s celebratory post on X garnered remarkable engagement with 317 comments, 785 retweets, and over 9,000 likes, reaching an audience of 88,000 by 4 p.m. Supporters flooded the post with congratulatory messages. A user, Suraj Kumar, expressed admiration for Soren’s resilience, stating, “Even your people betrayed you, but you stood like a rock and fought a brilliant battle.” Others urged the Chief Minister to focus on student welfare and conduct exams transparently.
JMM General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya took a dig at opponents, saying, “Some people from outside tried to divide us, but the public has reaffirmed its trust in the grand alliance.”
Meanwhile, Kalpana Soren, Hemant Soren’s wife and winner from the Gandey constituency, also received warm congratulations. A steady stream of well-wishers gathered at their residence in Ranchi to celebrate her victory.
The Election Commission reported the alliance’s success, with wins in five constituencies and leads in 51 others in the 81-member Assembly, leaving the NDA trailing with leads in just 24 seats. This decisive mandate cements the JMM-led coalition's position as the dominant force in Jharkhand politics, promising continued governance under Soren’s leadership.
